just finished working on a big paper sculpture which is destined to be installed in one of cincinnati's hippest new hair salon, high five salon, in o'bryonville. pretty excited to see it in this space!
it will be hanging from the ceiling in the middle of this big, open space with plenty of natural light.
before i started working on this, i had plenty of inspiration from the art world...
and of course from etsy...

Wow, Jess! This is seriously fab! How exciting it will be when it will be installed. O'Bryonville is the *perfect* place this amazing, edgy, hip piece to make its grand appearance and make home there.
Jeff is the one who first saw this when you posted a picture on FB last week (I think it was last week -- all of my days run together!) and were wondering about who/where it was being done for. (How do you like the grammar in that sentence?! lol) I was thinking wedding, Jeff thought something like a big dance/prom thing ... we spent a lot of time wondering where it was going! I'm so glad that it will have a *permanent* home where it can inspire and be seen by so many for a long time!
It's a perfect piece for a hip salon. What better than to have an awesome piece of art to attract customers and mostly to inspire the stylists! Love it, Jess!
Gotta ask ... how long did this take? That's a LOT of work!!

Thanks, ladies!
@Joyce- I'm not sure exactly how long it took to make... I started back in October, but there were long stretches of time where it hung in my garage untouched. Stitching the paper pieces was the time-consuming part. Getting it all hung from the bike wheel was the most immediate and satisfying part. :0)
Now that it's been finished and hanging in my living room for over a week, I'm starting to fall in love with it more and more and thinking I need to make another one for myself!
